I am a motivated student currently in my third year of a Communications degree at Mt Albert Unitec, majoring in Media Studies. I have approximately 23 months experience in the hospitality industry working as a bartender and waitress. I also have experience as a brand ambassador with Spur, and an event planner/promoter for Carrington's Pumphouse. I have also recently completed an internship with Remix Magazine where I contributed over 200 hours work to writing online and printed content for the magazine. I am passionate about all aspects concerning media, events and marketing, and I am eager to pursue my self-development in the communications industry.

Skills
-
Ability to contribute content to a company's social media channel. This skill was established through assisting Isabelle in posting images from old Remix photo shoots and accurately tagging the stylists, makeup artists, brands, etc. I also assisted in writing the appropriate captions for these posts using the Remix voice
-
Experience in admin work. This was gained through conducting phone calls and emails on behalf of the company, as well as posting magazines to stakeholders, collecting items needed for the office, and organizing clothing from photoshoots by brand before returning them to multiple head offices
-
Ability to produce written articles to a high standard both for online content and print. This skill was gained through writing a number of articles with varied topics for the Remix website, as well as writing up to 16 articles in one week for the printed June issue.
-
Ability to effortlessly meet word limits for written work. This skill began developing through my time spent completing course-work, however they greatened through being assigned written tasks by Steven and Isabelle that were often around the 15-200 word mark. This required me to either condense masses of information or collect further data to create an angle for the assigned topic
-
Ability to meet deadlines. This skill was developed when Steven began setting me deadlines for completing written work. He would often send me a written task out of the blue and request that I complete it before the end of the day.
-
Ability to adapt to different writing styles. I had to adapt to the Remix voice in my writing, but I also had to alter that voice to suit the topic. When I wrote about beauty products I used a feminine, bubbly tone, whereas with men's products I chose to write with a masculine edge to appeal to the target audience
-
Ability to contribute to office meetings. This skill was gained through sitting in on meetings held by CEO Tim Phin with the editorial team where plans for content in the next issue were discussed
-
Experience with data collection. This skill started to develop through completing course-work, but it was greatened through searching for article content, contact information, designer labels, rising NZ talent, etc, for Remix Magazine
-
Experience assisting with photo shoots. This was learnt through attending a photoshoot for Remix magazine after collecting high-brand clothing items from different head offices around Auckland and selecting what items to pick up in order to suit the theme of the shoot. I then ensured all parties involved in the shoot were content and offered my assistance in any way possible
-
An advanced mind in creativity shown through contributing ideas to the organisation of events held at the Unitec Pumphouse, as well as the promotion of said events
-
Great face-to-face customer service as a result of working almost 2 ½ years in the hospitality industry as a bartender and waitress
-
High levels of confidence developed through being a brand ambassador for SPUR
-
Effective time management skills obtained through juggling a number of responsibilities at once, including: two casual jobs, one part-time job, and full time study
