This week has once again been very productive, and the environment in the office has been buzzing. This is a result of Remix releasing their latest issue! Kylie Jenner was on the front page of the magazine, and a photoshoot with her featured within its contents. I have seen posts on Facebook from pages like ZM talking about the release, and it made me feel like I was involved in something really important! My name was mentioned near the front of the magazine along with other contributors. I also noticed how my work over the last few weeks had been incorporated into the issue. It was a good feeling.

I was also greeted by Steven with compliments on my work with the CASIO article. He told me that my work had already been posted to their website and that I should check it out. I hopped online and found the article. I half expected Steven to have tweaked some of my wording and/or grammar, however when I compared the online article to the one I had saved on my computer, they were identical. This was an incredible feeling – someone with SO much more experience with writing did not feel the urge to change anything about the way I had written the article. I feel like I am starting to get a hang of Remix’s language style, which is proof that referring back to their old written pieces while conducting new ones is starting to pay off.

I was then given the job of writing an article on a campaign by Andrea Moore. The concept of this campaign derived from Andrea’s desire to release a distressed denim range – however, she did not want to support the terrible conditions involved in the denim trade in China. Instead, she has decided to encourage customers to distress their own jeans. It was an interesting piece to write about, and I feel like I’ve embraced Remix’s language especially well in this piece. I am yet to hear feedback, but I feel confident that it is up to standard.

I have found that through writing articles for Remix, I have learnt many things about what is happening in the world today – many under the radar things. I look forward to continuing with more written work for Remix, but on my last day of the week, I finished with making deliveries of the latest issue to companies like The Edge. Even jobs like this have their perks however. I’ve met a number of people involved in the media through working with Remix, and it’s a great opportunity to start making connections. I am exercising the balance of formal and informal communication with other organizations and establishing my own identity in the working environment.

I can now add the following skills to my CV: - Experience engaging with stakeholders - Ability to adapt to a variety of different writing styles
